Three Castle Challenge Ride

Distance: 40 Miles     Difficulty: Medium

Pevensey Castle - East Sussex

This ride is ideally suited to a road bike, where you can cover the distance quicker than you would on any other bike. However, it can be done on anything else, and some of the roads when we rode it had some larger than normal holes in them. . It should take about 3 hours for anyone with a medium fitness level. As it is mainly on roads, this is not recommended for under 16’s.

A mountain bike is preferred for this cycle ride, but a hybrid bike would also do ok. This is a round trip which starts and finishes from a great pub, which offers great food, refreshments and security for your prized possession, your bike.

Mountain Bike in Surrey Hills

Distance: 10 Miles     Difficulty: Medium

One of the many trails

These Surrey hills have been walked and cycled for many years, but in 2012 they were made famous by the UK Tour de France cycle race winner Bradley Wiggins. He came to the London 2012 Olympics from France and won gold in this area. This route although it has a few roads on it, Bradley would not have felt comfortable on his expensive skinny tyred road bike. This my friends is a great route for your mountain bike and has been sent in by new subscriber, Peter Black.
