Distance: 18 miles Difficulty: Easy
A lovely circular route that starts and stops in Lymington, in the New Forest, UK. Plenty of route refreshments to be found on this lovely bike ride.
This bike ride is a circular route that we started and finished in Lymington. Actually we started in the car park right outside where we aimed to finish, a great bar called the Bosuns Chair.
This area is so beautiful, settled right on the edge of the New Forest, bordered on the southern side by the Solent. This day we could see the Needles on the Isle of Wight very clearly, and it was a fresh windy day, so many yachts were enjoying the breeze out on the water.
Just before here is a great family pub called The Gun. It has just the most amazing garden, which on a summers day must be very hard work to leave and get back on your bike. We marvelled at the beers on tap, and I think next time we will finish here.
From the castle you head through Milford on Sea, Hordle, Shirley Holms and eventually back to Lymington where some fresh local sea fish was enjoyed.
The route is mainly paved with some varying levels of maintenance when we cycled it.
