How do I get started with this site?

Just click away and explore.  The routes page is the best place to start with some great proven routes that have stops on route that are cycle friendly.

Can I upload my rides and routes?

Absolutely; we would love to receive your routes.  You can upload files of your rides and routes directly to WheelAle via our dedicated page here. You can upload the following file types as long as the file is 10MB or smaller: GPX, or KML.

How do I upload a route to Strava?

Once you have the GPX route file you can go to the following url - http://labs.strava.com/gpx-to-route/ (on desktop or mobile) and this will generate the Strava route for you. You can then connect your account here and this will allow you to save the route to your strava account.

Note: On the mobile version of the strava labs site, you'll need to click the arrow on the right to show the upload form.

How do I convert a kml file to gpx or vice versa?

There are many free to use converters out there, we use this one. http://kml2gpx.com
