This is a lovely easy bike ride that would be suited to a family bike ride. It can be tackled either way as there is a car park each end, or very easily as a return leg. Pretty much all on cycle routes as well. It follows the River Itchen so it is DEAD flat. What you waiting for?
Distance: 15 miles Difficulty: Medium
Not all bike rides have to be up and down massive hills, why not take in the beautiful views and landscape on a cycle trail alongside a river set in a stunning piece of Hampshire countryside. A mountain bike is preferred for this cycle ride, but a hybrid bike would also do ok. This is a round trip which starts and finishes from a great pub, which offers great food, refreshments and security for your prized possession, your bike.

Distance: 40 Miles Difficulty: Medium
This ride is ideally suited to a road bike, where you can cover the distance quicker than you would on any other bike. However, it can be done on anything else, and some of the roads when we rode it had some larger than normal holes in them. . It should take about 3 hours for anyone with a medium fitness level. As it is mainly on roads, this is not recommended for under 16’s.
Distance: 10 Miles Difficulty: Easy
This gorgeous cycle ride follows what is now a disused railway line that used to go from Fareham to Alton. Apart from the start or finish you are totally road traffic free and this cycle path pretty much follows the Meon River so elevation changes are fairly modest.
Distance: 10 Miles Difficulty: Medium
These Surrey hills have been walked and cycled for many years, but in 2012 they were made famous by the UK Tour de France cycle race winner Bradley Wiggins. He came to the London 2012 Olympics from France and won gold in this area. This route although it has a few roads on it, Bradley would not have felt comfortable on his expensive skinny tyred road bike. This my friends is a great route for your mountain bike and has been sent in by new subscriber, Peter Black.

Another 100 climbs states that Great Dun Fell is the greatest climb in England’ “Our Mont Ventoux’ it has no peers, there is no comparison.”
Distance: 13 miles Difficulty: Hard work
Some say Mont Ventoux is the hardest of all the mythical Tour de France climbs and rightly so. Mont Ventoux has a magnetic attraction for many cyclists. The lone giant of Provence rears up out of the French landscape to a height of 1912m.
